Cheri volunteers her time as Office Manager for Steps to New Freedom. The majority of her life has been spent around the military. Her father was in the Army for 20 years. She lived in 2 foreign countries and 7 states. After marrying her husband, who was in the Air Force, they promptly moved to Germany, then Idaho and finally back to Nevada. Cheri’s oldest son enlisted in the Air Force when he graduated from high school. He spent 6 years working as a linguist. She understands that it takes a special kind of person to make the sacrifices the military requires, from the veteran, to their families. Her heart has always and will continue to be with the military. She is grateful and thankful for all the men and women who have put their lives on the line for our country. Steps to New Freedom allows Cheri to give something back to the Veterans in the Northern Nevada area. She enjoys serving the veterans, from the beginning of the process in helping them secure a place to live when they find themselves homeless, and continuing that help once they arrive at Steps to New Freedom. Cheri has been the volunteer office manager for Steps to New Freedom for 8 years and has enjoyed her time. She will continue working at Steps to New Freedom until she is no longer needed.
